The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has endured what many call “Africa’s World War.” An estimated 5.4 million people have died from conflict-related causes since 1998. More than 40,000 children die monthly. Sadly, most die from easily preventable and treatable conditions—malaria, diarrhea, pneumonia, and malnutrition. The enormous flow of people into the southern region of Ubangi has rendered existing health services grossly inadequate. Bring basic health care to children and their mothers in rural areas of Ubangi that currently have no access to any form of health care. Will you help keep a child alive?
