China’s reality is that more than 215 million people are living in extreme poverty. With no money for electricity, they are forced to burn forest wood and coal for cooking. Poor families living in the mountainous area of Danling County of Sichuan are isolated. Elderly residents care for young children while their mothers grow small crops. Most men of working age have fled to the cities and are often never heard from again. ADRA will provide vulnerable families with a small biogas unit for their home.
