In India, TB is one of the leading causes of death and kills 450,000 people each year! TB patients are constantly exposed to smoke - filled indoor air from cooking, which further damages their lungs. While treatment is free, patients lack money for transportation to the center. What little money they do have is spent on food. You can help establish a TB support committee that will transport patients and encourage them to receive full treatment. Patients will be trained in home gardens, nutrition and will receive a goat and a smokeless cooking stove and training in its use.
