In Mali, more than 50 percent of families live on less than $1.25 a day. In many rural areas, women struggle to feed their children and go for three to four months each year with next to no food as they wait for the next harvest. With your help, ADRA will assist women’s groups in Nossombougou by teaching new gardening techniques and family nutrition. ADRA will also identify marketable products, provide basic financial training, and create improved storage facilities. But the most exciting aspect of this project is that ADRA will teach food preservation techniques that will keep the maximum nutrition of foods and will allow families to eat and earn income in the traditional hunger months.
