In Bucharest, Romania, 21 percent of the women suffer physical abuse — and 8 percent suffer sexual abuse from a family member. ADRA recently opened a “safe house,” or shelter, for female victims of abuse. At the ADRA safe house, women and children can eat and sleep without worry. Victims also receive medical care, counseling, and help in obtaining social and legal services. When these women are strong enough to move back into society, ADRA helps them find employment and a place to live. Your gift provides one day of shelter!
